Inventor Of Private Gyrotonic Training

Gyrotonic exercise and Gyrokinesis exercise are the two exercise methods that are encompassed in Gyrotonic Expansion System. Gyrotonic method uses a special equipment to allow movement with resistance and support. It increases functional capacity. Similar principles followed in yoga, gymnastics, dance, swimming, and tai chi are also embraced in this training.

In gyrotonic training, continuous, flowing motion are emphasized together with synchronized breathing patterns. One can attend sessions in private gyrotonic training in fitness facilities such as studios and gyms. These facilities also provide group sessions besides private ones. Group sessions are administered by one or multiple trainers to several trainees.

The development of gyrotonic expansion system was done by someone named Juliu Horvath. He is of Hungarian ethnicity and a citizen of Romania. Year of chronic injury drove him to develop this system. Initially, he worked as a gymnast and dancer. In his 20s he had become a ballet dancer with the Opera house of Romania. The US granted him asylum after he defected from Romania. He also lived in a refugee camp in Italy for months.

Horvath has his dance career ended when he herniated his vertebral disc. In a bid to rehabilitate the injury, he moved to Virgin Islands where he made a tiny hut within the mountains and devoted his life to extensive yoga life. The next 6 years of his life were spent in the mountains on meditation and yoga. As he did this, he started to develop the Yoga for Dancers.

Horvath started to teach his new method after returning to New York City from the Virgin Islands. He established a Gyrotonic studio in 1984, being the first person ever. His clientele was composed of professional dancers mostly. However, people soon realized the benefits of his classes and demand increased a lot. Horvath had to refine most routines in the training to accommodate people of different health status, body size, and age. Gyrokinesis Method was the name of the refined method.

People who practice this method benefit in many different ways. Some of the benefits accruing from the method include cardiovascular stimulation, increased mobility of joints, and enhanced circulation. Other benefits are enhanced sense perception, strengthening of nervous system, flow of energy, mobilization of spine, greater balance, stimulation, and enhanced coordination. People achieve this benefits to varying levels.

Juliu Horvath developed a specialized exercise equipment to be used for gyrotonic training. Horvath is responsible for developing all models of the equipment, which are in use currently. The equipment is designed to accommodate all movement patterns that the human body makes naturally. A curvilinear wooden framework is incorporated into the device. Several adjustments are also incorporated to allow customization so as to accommodate people of different levels of physical ability and physique.

Trainers use five major models of the device on a commercial scale. The Pulley Tower Combination Unit is the one in widest use compared to the other 4 versionas. The other four units are normally classified as specialized equipment. The four models are the Jumping Stretching Board, Leg Extension Unit, Gyrotoner, and Archway.
